BRAZIL, In far remote locations they can build stadiums and dig for fresh water.. and oil.

It did not take Brazil too long to get new stadiums built in remote areas for the world Cup. That was an easy task. Digging for oil and fresh water is made in the USA.

Manaus, the remote heart of the Amazon rain forest. There is where the US team is expected to gain more ground and hope for another win and advance at the world cub, 2014. 

Brazil, a population of over 200,000,000 is known for harsh undeveloped lands, and still undiscovered natural resources. While one of the largest economies in the world, it is still a work in progress. They are still building to connect those new communities by rail, air and roads.

This is a story about the good life of a pretty young country and it's pretty young people, water, sports, oil and gas and pictures of more.

Brazil is a young country. They are still building new big cities. Infrastructures on land and sea are expanding and bringing more discoveries every day.

Economic developing is joint ventures with the west and the east, including China and the US. Brazil is one of the largest five economies of the world. It is known for tall pretty women too.

It took  many billions of dollars to pay for ventures to bring infrastructures, stadiums, new cities and airports to isolated areas. While criticized by it's citizens,  Brazil was able to get ready to host the 2014 World Cup, followed by the Summer Olympic Games. 


This is a happy nation enjoying a big celebration every year at the Carnival of Rio de Janeiro.

At a remote area off the shores of Rio De Janeiro, oil is discovered, deep under the sea. 


As the world watches the competition for the World Cup,  Brazil is still building toward the next Olympics, the first in South America. 


It is the largest economy in Central and South America. 

Oil and gas are among important new discoveries with rewarding economic developments.  Many workers, including Americans took to the sea for years. Fresh water is too expensive to transport to their job site. It is plentiful of that everywhere you go in the interiors, but what will they do to get it beyond the shores at the newly discovered oil fields? US firms are there to help.

Recent announcement by Brazil's National Petroleum Agency of large reserves of oil off the coast of the northeastern state of Sergipe, representing a new frontier in petroleum development in Latin America's biggest country. Workers have to go the distance and live and shower years at the time.


Most of the country's oil production is concentrated in southeastern Brazil, where over the past several years billions of barrels of oil have been discovered in offshore reserves, mostly in deep, pre-salt fields.


A consortium including Shell, Total, two Chinese firms and Brazil's state-run petroleum company Petrobras won the right to develop a field off the cost of Rio de Janeiro that could hold up to 12 billion barrels of oil.


This year, several US companies with their workers are heavily invested at those remote areas for many years to come. Doing business and hosting sports events in Brazil is a challenge.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup is the 20th FIFA World Cup, an international men's football tournament that is currently taking place in Brazil. It began on 12 June, with a group stage, and is scheduled to conclude with the finale on 13 July 2014. Few weeks of fun by sports lovers. It is the second time that Brazil has hosted the competition, the first being in 1950. Brazil was elected unchallenged as host nation in 2007 after the international football federation, FIFA, decreed that the tournament would be staged in South America for the first time since 1978 in Argentina.

With the host country, all world champion teams since the first World Cup in 1930: Argentina, England, France, Germany (who won the tournament three times as West Germany), Italy, Spain and Uruguay, have qualified for this competition. Spain is the defending champion, having defeated the Netherlands 1–0 in the 2010 FIFA World Cup Final to win its first World title. The previous four FIFA World Cup tournaments staged in South America were all won by South American teams.

Spending over 21 billion,  made it posible for those countries to send their teams to Brazil and many miilions visitors to follow them. Billions are expected to be spent by many fans. Security is expected to be put to a test in preprartion for the upcoming Summer Olympics.

A tourism bonanza and economic booster.


New airports and railroads were built and gray grass was spray painted to look green.  There was no fresh water around. They are having more luck with oil many miles off the shores of Rio.

A US-Brazilian venture. Fresh drinking water brought by an American invention.


 Discovered in 2003, the Papa Terra Oil field is located 68 miles off the coast of Rio de Janeiro in the Atlantic Ocean at a depth of 3,937 ft. It is located in the Campos Basin, which is Brazil’s most important oil-producing region. A joint venture of U.S.-based Chevron and one of South America’s largest energy companies is operating the field, which has a planned total daily capacity of 140,000 barrels of crude oil.



The key to the oil drilling and production processes is a tension leg wellhead platform (TLWP), which will give the partnership the ability to develop a subsea field with direct vertical access into the well bore.

The TLWP includes dry trees, top tensioned risers and a tender assist drilling rig, which will support all the well drilling and workover activities as well as export the production to the floating production, storage and offloading unit.


Such projects present a significant challenge when it comes to the health and safety of the platform workers: how to efficiently provide potable water to contractors who are spending long work hours on a job site that is far from the mainland.

FloaTEC, the TLWP’s engineering, procurement, construction and installation contractor, selected a combination reverse osmosis membrane desalination filtration system and ultraviolet disinfection system to provide potable water to the employees on the TLWP. Both systems were provided by Severn Trent Services. Equipment installation was completed in 2012.

The reverse osmosis system—the UAT Pure Pro Series seawater desalination membrane filtration system—is designed to treat seawater with 37,000 ppm of total dissolved solids at 25°C.

The system has a feed seawater flow of 22.4 gal per mintute, a product flow rate of 8,064 gal per day. The Pure Pro Series systems, which are available in a range of output capacities, produce fresh, treated water, free of particulate matter or contaminants from a seawater source.


The systems are easy to operate and are built to withstand the harsh offshore and marine environments.

They are suitable for commercial, offshore and marine-specific applications and are a cost-effective means of consistently providing a source of fresh water—whether for drinking and other sanitary needs, equipment wash down, boiler makeup feed water, engine cooling or other requirements.


To prevent the formation of bacteria in the potable water storage tank, one option is to pump water continuously through the tank. The UV system utilized at the Papa Terra TLWP prevents the need for 24-hour-per-day pumping, saving energy and extending the life of the pumps.
